HME is proud to be a HSWA certified fabricator of tanks and vessels for storing hazardous substances in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations which took effect in New Zealand June 2017.

The purpose of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 (HSWA) is to protect the environment and the health and safety of people by preventing or managing the adverse effects of hazardous substances”.

We at HME have a long history of stainless steel fabrication, from large silos through to pressure vessels, pharmaceutical tanks and process equipment. With our depth of experience, excellent fabrication skills and engineering practices, we can now apply these qualities to HSWA tanks and vessels.

Certification

To ensure HME met the requirements to become a certified HSWA fabricator, an external assessment was carried out by Stork Technical Services New Zealand Limited.

The assessment covered all aspects of HME’s fabrication capabilities, including workshop equipment, qualified welders, quality assurance and documentation.

Independent audits are carried out at three yearly intervals to renew our HSWA fabricator certification.

All HME HSWA tank designs (above the threshold volumes) are supplied with a Tank Compliance Certificate.

HME’s approved Fabricator Certificate is linked to one or multiple registered approved designs (Worksafe TNK numbers).

Note:

  1. Threshold volumes: All those above 5mÂł, above 2.5mÂł (if flammable) and above 1mÂł if a process vessel.
  2. All HME HSWA tanks, including those under the threshold volumes, are supplied with our normal HSWA quality handover documentations on delivery.
